Marty and I attended the Bald Eagle Kennel Club show on July 30th. They were holding a Veterans competition and it sounded like lots of fun. So off we went with our van load of Flat-Coats and Becky the Beagle. The Veterans judge for both Flat-Coats and Beagles was Marjorie Martorella. A judge that both dogs were familar with.

Ravin was the first to exhibit. She flew around the ring like a young dog. Loving every minute of it. Ravin and Marty make a very lovely picture in the ring. Marjorie commented on her youthful look and was pleased to find out that she gave Ravin her first point at her first show, 10 years ago!!!

Next came Becky's turn. She wasn't real thrilled with the rain or the wet grass but received lots of applause when she gaited around the ring. Marjorie loved her face and said she was very cute. Marty told her that she gave Becky her first major. She thanked Marty for showing both girls to her.

The Veteran competition was different than we had ever seen. There were no Veteran Groups. Only a Best In Veteran following the judging of the seven groups. Marty went in with Ravin and I went in with Becky. They were right next to one another and gave it all they had. In then end, Best Veteran was awarded to a very nice Irish Setter Female. We went home without any additional ribbons, but with two very special old girls!!!
